Injured Miss Whiplash now stable


Ex-brothel keeper Lindi St Clair is in a “poorly but stable” condition after being trapped overnight in her car in a brook, a hospital spokesman said. The 57-year-old ex-dominatrix, known as Miss Whiplash, drove off a road near Risbury village in Herefordshire and plunged 15ft (4.5m) down an embankment. She was spotted by a passer by in an upturned Jeep Wrangler in the water about 22 hours later on Friday.

Miss Whiplash in river car ordeal


Former brothel keeper Lindi St Clair has been rescued after being trapped upside down in her car in a river for almost 24 hours. Ms St Clair, once known as Miss Whiplash, left the road near the village of Risbury in Herefordshire and went 15ft (4.5m) down an embankment. The alarm was raised at about 1500 GMT on Friday and the operation to rescue the 57-year-old took nearly two hours.

Man arrested after police car hit


A man has been arrested after a police car on South Tyneside was hit by another vehicle. The marked car was struck by a Ford Fiesta on Jeffrey Street in South Shields, early on Thursday. Two police officers inside suffered minor whiplash injuries

Examiner wins ‘worst driver’ case


A driving examiner who sued for damages after claiming he was hurt by the worst learner driver he had ever seen has won his case. Andrew Carmichael alleged he suffered whiplash after driving test candidate Lisa Connolly slammed on her brakes in rush-hour traffic two years ago. He told the Court of Session in Edinburgh he recorded 14 faults during Miss Connolly’s test
